Diversity Recruitment Training for a Branch of the U.S. 军事

挑战

A branch of the military wanted a new, dynamic approach which would both motivate its officer selection officers to seek out minority candidates and provide practical tools and methods to enable them to build sustainable relationships (“Diversity Pipelines”) with sources providing large pools of highly qualified diverse candidates (“HQDCs”).the trainees were relatively new in their military careers and came from a variety of backgrounds and geographic locations. Many were not comfortable building relationships with minority-focused institutions and organizations.

The Barthwell Group Solution

The Barthwell Group developed a training program focused around a creative diversity recruitment strategy: building sustainable relationships with higher education institutions and organizations which could consistently provide large numbers of highly qualified diverse candidates. In order to enable the trainees to build relationships during the session with executives from a variety of Diversity Pipelines, we developed a training team which included 17 diversity experts from around the country. The training included presentations explaining how to build Diversity Pipelines from the perspectives of the diversity experts and break-out sessions with opportunities for small group discussions and role play. Every trainee developed a personal follow-up plan during the training. Collectively, the trainees received more than 90 profiles of possible Diversity Pipelines. The training received extremely positive feedback both from the Client and the trainees.

Facilitation of Diversity Council Meetings for a 财富全球500强 公司

挑战

美国.S. 的子公司 财富全球500强 corporation created a Diversity Council headed by its president and comprised of its senior business leaders in order to enhance corporate inclusion and multicultural diversity. An earlier council had not accomplished its goals, and members indicated that its meetings were not substantive. The Client wanted to ensure a different outcome for the new council.

The Barthwell Group Solution

The Barthwell Group conducted an assessment of the Council’s members in order to determine the key challenges and strengths of the corporation’s inclusion environment as well as suggestions for the focus of the Council’s work. 基于反馈, we designed its meetings to ensure that the members received both practical information enabling them to understand the status of corporate inclusion and best practices among corporate peers and participated in developing the components for an effective strategy for the Council. The meetings were praised by the president and other Council members.
